The History of our Location

Bib’s Downtown is located at the Historic 675 W. 5th Street downtown location.  The pictures below will be prominently displayed on the walls of Bib’s Downtown for all our patrons to see.

Dr. Dalton’s House built in the 1800’s. Now the site of Bib’s Downtown.

Dr. Dalton's House

Dr. Dalton had his fabulous Victorian style home built there in the mid 1800’s where he started Winston-Salem’s first diaper service out of the back of the homestead.  This house was located on the spot that would later become Bib's Downtown.

Across the street from Bib’s Downtown was the historic Reynolds Homestead which was an awesome Victorian spectacle.  This house was demolished to make way for the present Forsyth County Public Library.

Biddy’s Soda Shop & Restaurant

Biddy’s Soda Shop & Restaurant was located in Downtown Winston-Salem at 211 Fifth Street and was operated by Pitmaster Mark Little’s Uncle JR Little in the 30’s and 40’s.  Mark remembers stories of military men in uniform packing the house for a fresh Biddy’s soda and sandwich.
